does the bbc hate, and report badly on jehovahs witnesses?
below are a number of articles /reports mentioned about the bbc in the wt and aw magazines .
if they believe and quote the bbc when they report good things that are in line with wt thinking - , why do they not believe it when they report the truth about the wt?

Indeed the society admit that one of the BBC’s items was “equivalent in value to millions of pounds spent in commercial advertising and was more potent than all newspaper reports (of which there were unusually many for this assembly) to change the public attitude favorably”!!!!!!

During the evening hour between 7 and 8 for the first time Jehovah’s witnesses made news on British radio and television. The BBC broadcast an interview with a convention official and also excerpts of Brother Knorr’s public talk, to be transmitted to America. Also for a minute and a half BBC newsreel televised shots of the baptismal procession and of the immersing of candidates. Both at 9 and 10 p.m. the BBC news gave short details of the Twickenham Stadium assembly. Hitherto the then noncommercial, monopolistic BBC has treated Jehovah’s witnesses with silent contempt as being an insignificant group. Now all this vocal and visual publicity by the BBC is expected to heighten somewhat in the minds of the British public their estimate of Jehovah’s witnesses. It was equivalent in value to millions of pounds spent in commercial advertising and was more potent than all newspaper reports (of which there were unusually many for this assembly) to change the public attitude favorably.

Loss of “Nature’s Secrets”
“The UN estimates that up to 90% of the world’s languages could die out over the next century, and with them much valuable knowledge about nature,” states a BBC News dispatch

Any Harm?
According to BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) guidelines, TV producers must carefully consider the effects of any violence their programs portray, cartoons included. “Emotional arousal as a result of violence increases with the ability of the viewer to identify with the situation” is the official view

A hundred persons stayed. Brother Henschel spoke while I went to the government radio station in Rangoon with some of the brothers who had arranged for me to give a fifteen-minute talk over the radio. The station was BBC, broadcasting on 7,500 watts power. On Wednesday evenings the station puts on an hour’s English program from 8:45 to 9:45. This follows a Burmese musical program which I heard at the radio station and it was most interesting. They were playing the native songs and they sound quite different from the American melodies. Not only does Burmese music use whole tones and half tones, but in Burma they break the music down to quarter tones. In other words, they have another note between their whole tones and sharps and flats. To the Burmese this is natural, but to an ear trained to hear the Western music the Eastern melodies are very enchanting but difficult to understand because of the odd tones that are so prominent in their music.
Just at the time I was to go on the air, Brother Henschel brought his talk to a close and Station BBC was tuned in at the City Hall. All sat and listened to the fifteen-minute discourse on the hopes of the people and what they could look forward to in a new world of righteousness. The brothers expressed afterward that they believed this broadcast would do much good, especially among the English-speaking Burmese, and they expected to find in the field-service work during the next few days many persons who listened to the program.
*** g01 11/8 Why Do Men Batter Women? ***
Nicaragua: “Violence against women in Nicaragua is soaring. One survey claimed that last year alone 52 per cent of Nicaraguan women suffered some form of domestic violence at the hands of their men.”—BBC News.
At a convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in London, a spokesman was asked by a TV reporter whether Jehovah’s Witnesses are really Christians. He answered: “Yes, very much so because Jesus is our model. There’s a lot of selfishness in the world, and we focus on Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life. We believe that he is the Son of God, not a part of a Trinity, so our understanding of the Bible is different from that of standard religion.”
When the interview was aired on BBC television, the reporter concluded the program by saying: “I’ve learned a lot more about why Jehovah’s Witnesses come knocking on our door. And I don’t think I’ve seen 25,000 people so well dressed and so well behaved all together in one place at the same time.” Fine testimony indeed from an outside observer to the wisdom of abiding by God’s unchangeable standards!
Why Ban Them?
· Recently London’s BBC Africa Service carried a radio report by commentator Elizabeth Blunt on the banning of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Angola. She stated that the banning was not because of any direct challenge to the State. “Instead,” she said, “although they are willing quietly to accept the rule of law, they only give their loyalty to God, and refuse to take any active part at all in politics. . . . In African countries where mass political parties urge party cards on all citizens and expect all citizens to share in nation-building activities and to demonstrate positively their loyalty to the state, the Witnesses have been banned and often persecuted, although as individuals they are usually quiet, sober and hard-working.”.
now that a new hampshire judge has opened the way for the elders to be sued in the berry molestation case, it's relieving to know that you can't be sued because you're an "untrained volunteer" elder.
i wonder if these guys smugly think that since the watchtower society is defending them, god will make sure they will not get into any trouble.
Elsewhere is wrong when he states that:-
In the Flock book they are given explicit instructions to not put any reference to the WTS on any documents regarding the DFing of people. You don't have to be a genius to figure out that this is to insulate the WTS from lawsuits.
The WTBS never put that in print in the Flock book, instead they verbally gave out instructions for us Elders to write down as an addendum to the book - that way they can say "he went apostate, we never said that, he "misunderstood""
Clever or what!!

having read the exchanges between rev, bill bowen, and others involved in the silent lambs website, i honestly feel sickened.
i remember when i first started to hear rumblings that "something big" was going down regarding the society's handling of child abuse.
i was overjoyed because i had first-hand knowledge of several atrocities in this regard and was hoping against all odds that a major upset would force them to change their policies.
Lets get this into perspective
1. Bill Bowen has done more to change the WTBS than anyone else in 100 odd years
2. The Society have had unleashed upon them a floodwave they cannot - and will not handle
3. The WTBS would love to see us destroy ourselves - we are the only ones who can do that
4. More has gone into Bills work than the rest of you know, filtering out gossip and untruth
5. How many of us on this board would have had the guts to do what he has done
6. It is easier to criticise than to do.
7. If we "sack him" who will take his place? None here thats for sure - and then the society will have won
Jim
wow, they have a lawyer that specializes in travel law.
i guess with the increasing consumer complaints against the airlines a travel lawyer would do well.. devon .
"i agree" could cost you your rights .
I will NEVER fly with American Airlines ever again, worst flight I ever had - London to Chicago. No compensation, badly delayed , poor service - everything was bad.
I now fly DELTA , BA or Virgin - Delta are cheap, no frills - but great engineers and you get there safely. Virgin are just superb

news just filtering in .
the society will be announcing to elders only that child abuse in the uk is to be handled differently in 2003 in the uk
it is well in the advanced planning stage that "regional teams of specially trained elders" (as with the hlc, building committees and press ) teams -planned for 2 teams of 4 elders per circuit (total 8) - are being formed to handle and hear any and all child abuse, alleged child abuse and historical child abuse cases.

These elders will also co-ordinate with the Police "Child Abuse" and social services unit in the same way as the HLC do - i.e. be seen by the authorities to be taking pro-active stance.
The Elders are to be chosen on experience, empathy and consideration. The CO's are trawling the local Elders now and are reporting back VERBALLY before the end of December the names of Brothers they are recommending. Training of these Brothers is planned to take place at Bowes Road, Bristol Assembly Hall, Manchester MTS Center and Pennine Hall - none of these meetings is planned to take place in Bethel.
The Society is taking these steps quietly (i.e. no massive announcement at this stage) because to announce this action could mean an admission they they have mishandled cases. It would also point to the apostates having highlighted an area of weakness in the earthly organisation and this would not fit in to Jehovahs good name being vindicated. It will however give a good witness to any other reports of child abuse and enable a more caring human side being shown to the congregation of God - and enable child abusers to be "rooted out" of Jehovahs clean congregation and allow child to be safe in Jehovahs house once again.
My view - well done to Bill Bowen , NOW will the GB admit they got it wrong!!

Does this set a new trend in Theocratic Calenders?

while the jehovah's witnesses avoid giving to charity - after all why bother?, they are going to die at armageddon soon anyway, the rest of the world do their best to help those in dire need.. every year the bbc 'children in need' appeal raises millions to help disadvantaged children everywhere.. uk posters will know what i'm talkng about.. send some money to pudsey!.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/.
You guys really have it all wrong you know
No JW would ever give money to such a Satanistic, commercial TV station that dared to put out a slanted, biased, anti JW program such as Panorama.
Surely the 13m wwould be better in the hands of Mill Hill Bethel, think of all the WT's and property they could make and buy!! Its a disgrace that all this money goes to children of the world - better they have WT's and Awakes rather than money, food and enjoyment. Sprituality is far more important
And what about the dreadful, Satanistic performance of the "Sweet Transvestite" song - tut,tut
Jim
PS Wasn't it great - but don't tell anyone!!
